KingBridge Tower, a new iconic landmark in Bangkok, is under development by KingBridge Tower Co., a unit of Saha Group. This ambitious project aims to create a sustainable and community-oriented office space along Bhumibol Bridge and Rama III Road. With an initial investment of 6 billion baht, KingBridge Tower is set to become a unique icon for this part of Bangkok with a focus on sustainability and the tallest building in Thailand. It has been chosen as a pilot project for energy and environmental conservation by the Circular Economy in Construction Industry group.
A Collaborative Effort for a Sustainable Future
The KingBridge Tower project brings together a team of both Thai and international partners, including:
Architects 49, responsible for the building design
Mott MacDonald, engineering consultancy and designers of the Bhumibol Bridge itself
Thai Obayashi Corp, the local branch of Japan’s Obayashi Corp, as the main contractor for construction
Stonehenge Inter, the project supervisor
YSH group for façade works
These partners have collaborated to ensure that the tower incorporates circular economy models throughout its development.
Building a Strong Community Foundation
The director of the KingBridge Tower project, Thaninthorn Chokwatana, emphasizes the importance of creating a building that not only serves as an iconic piece of architecture but also helps develop the community in the Rama III area. By providing office space for rent, KingBridge Tower will create jobs and promote economic growth in this strategic district.
Furthermore, KingBridge Tower is designed to act as a central hub where companies and organizations can work together for the betterment of society. With its focus on sustainability and community engagement, the tower is poised to become a landmark that residents can be proud of.
Innovative Design Meets Environmental Harmony
The design of KingBridge Tower, spearheaded by Maythin Chantra-ou-rai, executive director of Architects 49, aims to create harmony with the surrounding environment and Bhumibol Bridge. The tower features unique design elements like the “Re-Tell” common space, which will serve as a versatile open area for learning and other activities. The “Water Scape” on top of the building offers an elevated platform with breathtaking views of Bangkok, perfect for hosting events.
In addition to aesthetic considerations, KingBridge Tower is also designed with the health and well-being of its occupants in mind. The MERV 14 air quality system filters out more than 90% of PM2.5 particles and other fine particles. The building also aims to achieve LEED Gold and Fitwel 3-star multi-tenant base building design-certified project standards, making it the first project of its kind in Asia.
A Vision for the Future
KingBridge Tower represents a bold vision for an iconic and sustainable architectural landmark that fosters community growth, environmental conservation, and economic development. As the first skyscraper in Saha Group’s 80-year history, this ambitious project symbolizes the company’s commitment to creating a better future for the people of Thailand.
